Chakra Series: Sacral

Chakras are energy centers that exist in and around our physical bodies. Each chakra has a unique location and is associated with a different gland, psychological function, element, energy state, and more.

Here's a bit more on the Sacral Chakra:

The sacral chakra is the "abode of self." The element is WATER. Our bodies, like our planet are made up of about 70% water. This is our movement, flow, and other qualities that water displays. Find inspiration, creativity, expression through the connection with Swadhisthana, the sacral chakra.

Have you ever felt stuck, uninspired, or dry? Perhaps your second chakra needs a little love and attention.

Here are a few ways to balance the Sacral chakra:

  • Hydrate by drinking water

  • Move your body - especially focus on the hips and pelvis

  • Connect to movement that feels good, or imagine you are like water as you go with the flow

  • Swim, take a bath, visit a body of water -- connect to the element of water in a way that feels right to you

  • Create! Paint, draw, sculpt, bake -- stay unattached from the outcome or how things look so you can enjoy the process. (If you have kids, get out the play dough or paints and join in to create together!)

  • Dance - turn up your favorite song and dance!
